Fan Engagement at The Player’s Championship
Challenge
The Players Championship, one of golf’s premier tournaments, wanted to enhance its hospitality suite experience with a memorable interactive media experience. The challenge was to create a game that could captivate fans, encourage longer stays, and deepen their fan engagement with the live-action on the course. They needed a solution that was easy to access, flexible enough for varying levels of commitment from tournament attendees, and able to integrate real-time player data into a clean, intuitive user interface.
Solution
Dizplai developed “Hole Master,” an interactive predictor game designed to achieve these goals. The game allowed fans to make real-time predictions about each group of golfers, such as “Who will make par?”. The games used dynamic visual displays of each hole provided by IMG Arena to ensure the audience could understand the context of the game as the event happened in real-time.

Results
The “Hole Master” game was a resounding success, creating an immersive experience for fans:- Fans took part in 70% of all games in the hospitality suites, demonstrating high engagement.
- On average, fans played 18 games each throughout the event.
- The game added a new dimension of excitement, blending real-time events with a competitive environment through leaderboards, surpassing traditional viewing.
