GFN sits at the heart of one of football’s most vocal fan communities. AFTV and DR Sports between them reach an audience that is deeply invested, highly opinionated, and extremely online. What GFN needed was a way to take that raw fan energy and build something commercially sustainable around it, without losing the authenticity that made the channels worth watching in the first place.

The challenge: making fan passion pay

GFN’s broadcasts had the audience and the credibility, but the production needed to work harder commercially. Working with GFN across AFTV and DR Sports, we designed bespoke HTML broadcast graphics packages for both channels, giving each production a polished, on-brand look that met professional broadcast standards. Live match data was integrated in real time, ensuring fans had the context they needed to follow the action throughout each watchalong.

Fan participation was built into the heart of both productions through social media integration and superchats, turning the audience from passive viewers into active contributors to the content. Alongside this, we created new commercial inventory within the broadcasts: sponsored content through logo placement, and QR codes that created direct pathways to purchase for brand partners, giving sponsors measurable activation rather than passive exposure.

A campaign run through the GFN network generated over 350,000 fully KYC-verified fan sign-ups with a brand partner, representing one of the most significant first-party data captures in fan channel history.
