William Hill is one of the UK’s biggest bookmakers with over 1,300 retail outlets and online platforms serving sports fans across the country. In recent years, live content has become a key part of William Hill’s strategy, differentiating its offering and making its physical and digital destinations as attractive as possible. So when the bookmaker wanted to enhance its live Betting TV service by making it more engaging, it turned to Dizplai.


William Hill’s Betting TV service carries live coverage of sports such as horse racing and greyhound racing of particular interest to its in-store and betting customers. But of course many customers are also interested in a wider variety of sports results, particularly from football, but these could only be offered by showing the goals service of one of the main broadcasters in store.

William Hill was interested therefore to add live results from other other sports (and related betting odds)  to its Betting TV service via dynamic branded graphics that were quick to create, engaging and cost-efficient.


Dizplai’s platform powers automated HTML-based graphics – with data sources such as Opta already built in. For this reason, we were able to create a brand new set up of dynamically updating graphics within weeks – featuring updates, scores, results and league tables from the English Premier League, Championship, Leagues One and Two, Scottish Premiership, Bundesliga, Serie A, La Liga, Ligue 1 as well as the UEFA Champions League, Europa League and Europa Conference League.

The graphics can also display betting odds and engagement features such as QR codes to drive traffic to William Hill’s digital properties. Future plans include the addition of more sports and deeper engagement features.

By using a flexible, all-in-one platform like Dizplai that can deliver broadcast-quality graphics quickly and efficiently, William Hill were able to take a huge stride forward in establishing themselves as a new type of broadcaster – able to cater for their audiences’ specific needs.
